Hisense Expands Manufacturing in Nuevo León

The company Hisense announced that its plant in Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León, located in the Hofusan Industrial Park, is an important exporter to the entire American continent. The CEO of the company in Mexico, Antonio Hidalgo, emphasized that the plant is strategically designed to supply from Canada to Patagonia.

Hidalgo mentioned that the plant will represent a total investment of about 250 million dollars once the four stages are completed. Currently, the first stage is dedicated to the manufacturing of refrigerators, while the second focuses on kitchens, such as stoves. The following stages, still under evaluation, could include the production of washing machines and air conditioners.

The CEO projected that, once all stages are completed, the plant in Nuevo León will become the largest Hisense factory in the world for refrigerated products, excluding China. It is expected that between 75 and 80% of the plant's production will be destined for export.

During the past year, the plant managed to produce nearly 200 thousand refrigerators and it is estimated that its annual capacity will reach 2 million. Hidalgo praised the robust manufacturing ecosystem and white goods supply chain in Nuevo León as one of the reasons to locate the investment in the region.

In addition, Hisense recognized Nuevo León for having an important supply hub for white goods, highlighting its position in the refrigerator market. Besides the plant in Salinas Victoria, the company operates other facilities in Rosarito, Baja California, for the manufacturing of televisions, and in Saltillo, where compressors are produced.
